Recently, there has been an onslaught of radio ads touting the Indeed.com website as the place for companies to post open jobs to attract attractive candidates. A company posting any position on that site will certainly get a good amount of applicants.
In fact, the response might be overwhelming. A pile of resumes will be in your Inbox with no way of knowing if they are qualified without going through each resume. But do the most qualified and most attractive candidates respond to a posting like this ? My experience as an executive recruiter has shown me that it is not the case. Why do I know this ? From talking to candidates I have pro-actively recruited. The best and brightest don’t respond because 1) they are too busy being successful in their jobs and 2) they respond ‘why should I’ ?
A good, effective recruiter will be more effective in finding AND qualifying candidates. Your Inbox won’t be as full, but the candidates we present you will find to be well qualified AND interested in your opening.
